Eligibility
The following services are available to anyone: birth control, family
planning, childhood immunizations, foreign travel immunizations, Healthy
Start Program and confidential sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing,
treatment and counseling.
Other services are available to persons determined to be eligible for a
clinic card (based on residency and income). Each individual situation

WIC (Women, Infants & Children |
WIC is a federal supplemental nutrition program for pregnant or
postpartum women, breastfeeding women, infants and children up to
age five who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty guidelines. Qualified applicants receive nutrition counseling and a
redeemable check for food, which may include cereal, eggs, fruit
juice, milk, cheese, dried beans, peanut butter, carrots and/or tuna
and in some cases, infant formula. |

Healthy Start Program |
Healthy Start screens pregnant women and newborn babies to
identify risk factors for low birth weight and infant mortality.
Healthy Start is free and available to everyone regardless of
income. A team of nurses, social workers, and peer counselors assist
families in determining their needs and provide counseling,
parenting support, childbirth and breastfeeding education, and
smoking cessation services (classes in English and Español). |

HIV/AIDS Services |
The SCHD offers free and confidential HIV/AIDS testing and
counseling. Primary medical care and on-site laboratory
services are available for HIV-positive individuals. SCHD's
Pharmacy can fill prescriptions for Medicaid, Ryan White, and

Veterans’ Services |
SCHD staff help veterans enroll in drug prescription programs.
Veterans Affairs medical care is available to honorably discharged
veterans on a space-available basis. For service-disabled veterans,
POWs, and Purple Heart recipients, medical care is available on a
priority basis. Eligibility requires a DD214 (honorable discharge). |

Vision Screening |
Free vision screening for adults is done on the 1st Thursday of
each month from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Screenings are performed by
certified screeners. Free eye glasses are available to those
